Doing this naturally

I overheard a conversation at work this morning...one co-worker was congratulating another on his weight loss. They went on to discuss the specifics of the "diet" he is on. He explained that when he went to the doctor to get his latest shot, the doctor explained that his blurry vision, pains in his sides, etc. were all caused by his body "detoxing" and that it was nothing to worry about.

I'm going to have to tell you right now, I'm struggling to make this happen, to lose 100+ pounds, but I'm going to do it naturally. I'm going to eat healthily, exercise, do the right thing. Anything with that many scary sounding side effects is just not worth it to me, especially when a natural alternative is readily available.

I realize the natural course takes a lot of willpower, and that's a major problem for many of us. But, blurry vision???? No thanks! I'll stick to my big salads, lots of veggies, whole grains, low-fat, and less sugar plan.

  2. I agree. Healthy is the best way. I know way too many people that took the short cut, and most of them spring boarded right back to where they were, if not worse. Congratulations for sticking to it!

  4. I totally agree! I have had a lot of people telling me that I should do THIS detox or take THAT pill, but I won't do it. It's not like I would be planning to be on that detox or whatever forever anyway, so what's the point of losing all of that weight just to see it come right back? How heartbreaking that would be! If I can't stick to it for the rest of my life, then I won't do it. Period.

  5. I'm with you. Healthy and naturally is the best way. BTW, I wonder who this "Doctor" is. I've read that detoxing is a scam over and over again. Our bodies naturally detox themselves, thank goodness. We really have incredible machinery we are working with.

  8. I know a few people who have taken pills and shots to loss weight and the problem is that when they stop taking the pills or shots or what ever, they put the weight they lost right back on.
You are doing the right thing and you will get to your goal with hard work. You have it in you to do this and I am sure you will.

  9. Hi! Just read your blog and that is what I'm doing. I also quit my high stress job as a teacher's aide. My blood pressure was so high all the time at work but in the summer it went back to normal. I watch my grand kids (2 boys 2 and 7 months) and my blood pressure stayed low! My new job doesn't pay as much but the benefits are already showing. Down 10 pounds and 10 inches overall!!! Do what's best for YOU! Keep up the great work!!!
